<p>Today, organizations require new knowledge to enhance their capabilities and foster a healthy organizational climate, and the acquisition of new knowledge necessitates the establishment of a knowledge-oriented management system within the organization. In fact, knowledge-based management is regarded as an important approach to employee empowerment and to improving organizational efficiency, effectiveness, and health. The present study aimed to explain the relationship between knowledge management and the individual performance of employees in the Directorate of Sports and Youth of Diyala Province, Iraq. The statistical population of the study consisted of employees of the General Directorate of Sports and Youth of Diyala Province, Iraq. The sample size was determined based on the Krejcie and Morgan sample size table, and participants were selected through random sampling. The measurement instruments included a demographic information questionnaire, a knowledge management questionnaire, and an individual performance questionnaire. Descriptive and inferential statistical methods, SPSS software, and structural equation modeling (SEM) were used to analyze the data. The results indicated a statistically significant relationship between knowledge management and individual performance in the Directorate of Sports and Youth of Diyala Province, Iraq (p &lt; .001). Knowledge management and its dimensions can contribute to the enhancement of individual performance. More specifically, the four dimensions of knowledge management—knowledge socialization, knowledge externalization, knowledge combination, and knowledge internalization—can influence individual performance and thereby enhance the effectiveness of the activities undertaken by the General Directorate of Sports and Youth. This study can contribute to improving individual performance through knowledge management in the Directorate of Sports and Youth of Diyala Province, Iraq, and its recommendations may provide practical guidance for sports administrators and managers.</p>
