Author Guidelines

The Future of Work and Digital Management Journal (FWDMJ) welcomes high-quality, original submissions that align with the journal’s scope of digital transformation, the future of work, and evolving management practices. To ensure a smooth submission and peer-review process, authors are required to carefully follow the guidelines outlined below.


1. Manuscript Types Accepted

The journal accepts the following types of scholarly contributions:

  • Original Research Articles (5,000–8,000 words)

  • Review Articles (5,000–10,000 words)

  • Conceptual Papers (4,000–7,000 words)

  • Case Studies (3,000–5,000 words)

  • Short Communications or Research Notes (2,000–3,000 words)

  • Perspective and Commentary Articles (1,500–3,000 words)

Word limits exclude abstract, references, tables, and figure captions.


2. General Formatting Requirements

Please submit manuscripts in Microsoft Word (.doc or .docx) format.

  • Font: Times New Roman, size 12

  • Spacing: 1.5 line spacing throughout

  • Margins: 2.5 cm (1 inch) on all sides

  • Page Numbers: Bottom center

  • Language: English (British or American, but be consistent)


3. Manuscript Structure

Your manuscript should contain the following components in the specified order:

a. Title Page (submitted separately for anonymity)

  • Title of the article (concise and descriptive)

  • Full names and affiliations of all authors

  • ORCID IDs (recommended)

  • Corresponding author’s contact information

  • Acknowledgments and funding sources (if applicable)

  • Conflict of interest statement

b. Main Manuscript (without author information)

  1. Title (repeat title without names)

  2. Abstract (150–250 words)

    • Should summarize objectives, methods, results, and conclusions.

  3. Keywords (4–6 terms)

    • Separated by semicolons

  4. Introduction

  5. Literature Review / Theoretical Framework

  6. Methods and Materials

  7. Results

  8. Discussion

  9. Conclusion and Implications

  10. References (in IEEE style – see below)

  11. Appendices (if needed)

Tables and figures should be embedded within the text close to their first citation.


4. Tables and Figures

  • Use APA-style captions above tables and below figures.

  • Number them sequentially (e.g., Table 1, Table 2; Figure 1, Figure 2).

  • Ensure all tables and figures are cited in the text.

  • Do not use vertical lines in tables.

  • Submit figures in high resolution (300 DPI minimum) in JPEG or PNG format if separate.


5. In-Text Citation Format (IEEE Style)

The FWDMJ uses the IEEE citation format, which is a numeric style. In-text citations should be numbered sequentially in square brackets as they appear in the text. Each reference is cited by number only.

Examples:

  • As discussed in [1], digital platforms alter labor relations.

  • Previous studies [2], [3], and [4] explored the managerial response to AI-driven tools.

  • Smith et al. proposed a novel model in [5].


6. Reference List Format (IEEE Style)

The reference list should appear at the end of the manuscript, numbered in the order of citation, and formatted according to IEEE style. Examples are provided below.

a. Journal Article

b. Conference Paper

7. Ethical Compliance

Authors must confirm that:

  • The work is original and has not been published or submitted elsewhere.

  • All listed authors meet the authorship criteria.

  • Ethical approval was obtained (for studies involving human participants).

  • No data fabrication, plagiarism, or manipulation has occurred.

  • All conflicts of interest are disclosed.

8. Article Processing Charges (APCs)

An Article Processing Charge of 1,500,000 Tomans is applicable only upon acceptance of the manuscript. There is no fee for submission or peer review. APC waivers or discounts may be available upon request for authors from low-income institutions.

Submission Preparation Checklist

All submissions must meet the following requirements.

  • This submission meets the requirements outlined in the Author Guidelines.
  • This submission has not been previously published, nor is it before another journal for consideration.
  • All references have been checked for accuracy and completeness.
  • All tables and figures have been numbered and labeled.
  • Permission has been obtained to publish all photos, datasets and other material provided with this submission.
